Tuesday is here again, and tonight we're going to look at the new computers! It's going to be a lot of fun creating multimedia projects on them, and I think you'll all be pleasantly surprised at what you can do!

We're also going to look at blogging tonight. I want you all to set up an account and then post your ideas as to how you think you could use blogs in the classroom. Make sure that you make a note of your username and password, and that you write down the blog address so that you can post that on BlackBoard.

Comments:
It could be useful in a variety of ways. One way would be if the student did not understand the material other students could write comments to them trying to help them understand. They could also blog about what was going to be on the test, ect. and clarify anything they are unsure of. Blogs can also be useful to the teachers, in helping the parents know what is going on in the classroom, etc.

I really love the idea of blogging in the classroom! It could be used as a virtual classroom.. where assignments are given and homework recieved. It could also be used as a journal and for reflections at the end of an assignment.

I LOVE TUESDAYS. I think that this is a great idea that you have come up with here. Blogging so far appears to be a very useful tool, and I am looking forward to learning more about blogging.

I would want my students to be able to ask me questions at any time day or night and know that I will be able to help them. I know when I am in class I am able to understand information but once I come home I do not know how to do it. I would also like to use it so I post blogs about important test and projects. Also, i would allow my parents ask me any question or be able to check their child's work.

It could be useful for colaboration between classes of the same grade level, to be able to have a means of communication between students and parents, and a wonderful way for your students to be able to annoymously discuss anything covered in class they did not understand with the teacher.

I have really enjoyed learning how to use the Mac computer. What we have learned tonight would be very benefical to any classroom environment. I think that blogging is something that would be very benefical to getting to know you students. If they have any questions, blogging would be available for them to go on and ask any questions if they are not comfortable asking me a loud in a classroom. Also, blogging would allow for my students to be informed on the assignements for the day if I allow for that to be available on my blog.

I find that blogging is very interesting. Even though I have not had much experience, I do however believe that it will be to my advantage to use this in my own classroom some day. I believe it would be fun to interact with your students, as well as parents to help them learn and have fun with technology!

I think there are many wonderful ways you could use a blog in the classroom. For starters, it would be an excellent way to help build relationships with your students. Not only would you be seeing thm daily, but you could communicate with them away from school as well. It would be a great reflection tool for students, especially those who are shy in front of people. There are just many wonderful ideas you could come up with to utilize this tool in the classroom. The biggest added bonus would be that it can be fun and entertaining. I think that's a good goal to keep in mind... allow the kids to learn and have fun at the same time.

I think blogging would be very useful as a way for students to reflect on what they learn at the end of each class period. I also think that it would be beneficial when the teacher or students are unable to be in the actual classroom because even though they are not physically there, they can still interact with other students. Also, anything a teacher or student encounters outside of the classroom that they feel would be beneficial to share they could write a blog about to share with everyone else.

I think that blogging could be very good in the classroom in many different ways. One way is you could have it as a reflection tool for the students and let them reflect upon what they have learned or what they need help on or even just about their feelings. I think that you could really get to know alot more about your studnets this way. Another way would be to keep the parents updated and they can share some ideas that they may have came up with. Also if you have like a speacila eduacation class you could allow the parents to blog amoung each other and they could talk about maybe some obstacles that they have in their way or just form realtionships with other parents. I think that it would be a wonderful tool to have in a classroom and hopefully one day all the classroom will have the means to do this.

Use for blogging in the classroom;
1 .Share info from different locations
2 Involve out of classroom students in classroom activities
3 Allow syudents to have input on future classroom activities
4 Communicate with substitute teachers

I would use blogging in my classroom for new students to get to know each other and also any students who have trouble speaking English. I think that blogging may help any students who has trouble understanding the engish language. It would be a great way for students to help one another. Also, I could use it in having a one-on-one interaction with all the students and receive feedback from them. It is useful for the teacher as well as the students. It is helpful in many ways, especially for the younger students who do not have an email address. My email address is kerrebs@hotmail.com.

Students could use the blog as a classroom reflection tool. At the end of a lesson, the entire class could ideally log onto their individual blogs and post their thoughts on the material and ideas covered that day. This would enable the teacher, or perhaps other students to respectfully (once again, ideally) comment on these reflections. This could possibly start further discussions that would help both the students' understanding of the lesson and build a greater sense of community in the classroom.

Blogging could be useful in many ways. Teachers could communicate though it. They could help each others with ideas on how to teach a certain things. They would also be useful to parent/teacher instead of notes sent home you could blog what the problem was to the parent. Questions could be answered about school work and maybe one question posted on blogs could answer many questions.

I think that blogging in the classroom is a great idea. It helps keep everyone in contact with eachother and it allows many new possibilities for teachers and students. This allows students to post blogs reflecting on the days activities or lets them ask questions regarding the lesson plan.
